A Dog by Any Other Name...

I've been driving myself crazy over the last couple of days trying to think of a name for my pooch. He's going to be a tiny Shih-Poo male weighing in at only 10-15 pounds, so I want to give him a name that's very "MAN" to compensate.

Here are some names on my shortlist:

• Buster
• Hero
  
• Mr. Big
• Tobey
• Yoshi
• Rambo
• Dexter
• Tofu
• Oreo
• Nori

I really wanted to name my puppy "Big" after Big on Sex in the City... wouldn't it have been so appropriate? haha... Too bad I found out that it's not good to give your dog a one syllable name for training purposes, so that got scrapped.

Tobey is a cute name, but my sister, Phan, had to burst my Tobey bubble by telling me her cousin in law just named their dog that. Originality is key here.

The next name that had a big run for the money is Milo, which was Alex, the BF's idea. Milo is an asian energy drink which is one of my favourites for breakfast. When I was in Thailand, they had Milo everything from chocolates to biscuits to drinking boxes and I was loving it. I was actually pretty set on this name until I started a bit further and it reminded me of a person/character who I didn't want to associate my doggy with... so that got scrapped too.

Then it hit me like Eureka. Well DUH! As you can see from the name of the blog, "Meet HERO," I'm sure you can guess what name I picked. It helped that I just recently finished watching the first season of Heroes and my favourite Hero is Hiro. Har har... at the end of the day, I'm just another damsel in distress and he shall be my Hero... I like the sound of that. =)
